Racing Hearts Equine Assisted Therapy

Learning to respect the horses with a “mindfulness” base brought joy, reward, satisfactions, and happiness into my life. Lisa manages the farm in a way that allows every client, volunteer, staff member, and horse to fulfill their absolute potential with kindness, guidance, and professionalism. Thank you Racing Hearts!

Racing Hears has been a unique and fun way for our students to engage with social and emotional learning. Students involved in the program have had improved attendance and behavioral changes, with fewer incidents in the yard, better social skills, and knowledge of emotional boundaries.

Being a volunteer at Racing Hearts takes me back to my childhood. I always wanted a horse of my own and as a child, I gravitated towards the animals during my mother’s illness. The stables were my happy place. By volunteering I feel I’m helping others take advantage of these wonderful animals.

I divide my Racing Hearts experience into three categories. Firstly, the horses they help. Secondly the children who learn and grow through their programs. And thirdly the volunteering experience that helps me grow,
